Recovery; Community Connection
The Growing Towards Wellness - Recovery; Community Connections project is a community based integration program concept designed to engage voluntary inpatients and outpatients of the Mimidi Park Psychiatric Hospital in an adult community education and learning program through industry based and community based work.
Participants are engaging in and learning broader skills applicable to further education and employment through a supported horticultural and environmental training activities program.
This project engages participants by running the non-accredited training within the hospital grounds and by taking them out of the hospital into the community, working at selected industrial sites and providing a direct link to accredited training post hospital release.
